Ok, ive been talking alot on a christian group on Myspace and because these are public groups alot of athiests and satanists come in and like to debate. Im not here to debate. I believe in God and Jesus and have been saved and baptised in the water of life. But I have a few questions.

First is about the Catholic and Anglican church. Now it has been my understanding that the Roman Empire spawned off from the Christian church because they didnt like they way it was run and they believed some different things. Im not sure if this is the truth or not im not very good with history. How was the Catholic church formed and is it a spawn off of Christianity. Please give reasoning as to why or why not.
Now Ive been to an Anglican church I have a friend who attends and is a member of one. He told me the Anglican church is a sub version of catholosism... is this true? why or why not?

My next question is more opinion I guess. Some one asked the question of if Dinosaurs existed during the times of the bible, how is it they co-existed with humans and did a meteor really wipe them out. Someone offered a theory that they co-existed and it might be possible that when satan fell from heaven it is decribed as a star falling from heaven crashing into the earth and locking satan in the deepest pits of hell. Is this a plausable argument? Could it be possible? This is probably a mainly personal opinion but insight would be nice..

Thank you for reading and God Bless.

Hi aplpleJack! Thanks for the questions! Let's look!

Be sure about your own theology though. Before you tell someone else what you believe, you need to know what it means. However, if you didn't have any questions about your faith, I would be really concerned.

I don't see it this way. The Roman Empire fell on its own in 476 A.D. The church did not fail. Now Catholicism will give you a list of Popes all the way from Peter. Does that mean they were viewed as Popes as Popes are today? I don't think that follows. We can make a mistake of reading back into history our concepts from today's time. After Constantine, there was a close view between church and state, but the church was not the Roman Empire.

Now Ive been to an Anglican church I have a friend who attends and is a member of one. He told me the Anglican church is a sub version of catholosism... is this true? why or why not?

It's Protestant, but it is often quite close to Catholicism.

The times of the Bible though is a hard phrase. To me, since the Bible describes creation, it simply means that it describes all time. Now I'm an OEC, so I'm going to offer my view. However, I will be glad to get a young-earther to come and answer the question from a YEC perspective. My idea is that what you see described in Rev. 20 with Satan being locked in the pit is apocalyptic language and not to be read literally. I don't believe Satan is a physical being that makes an impact when he hits the Earth. Furthermore, I don't think that Satan got locked in then. That happened at the resurrection of Christ.

What killed them? I don't know. I'll leave that up to science. I don't see a reason though to think they walked the Earth with human beings. I will gladly though try to get someone on staff who's YEC to give their opinion.

Thank you for reading and God Bless.

Thank you for asking.

The YEC answer, at least my YEC answer would be the same. The apocalyptic Revelation has nothing to do with the extinction of the dinosaurs. How were they wiped out? I don't know, the Bible doesn't tell us. I do believe they co-existed with man as I believe the Bible teaches a young creation. However, I don't make it a point of contention as I once would have. Being more familiar with OEC has taught me much more tolerance for the view. I still have little tolerance for any attempt to marry evolution and the Bible. That is not to say that there are not real Christians who are theistic evolutionists. I just believe they are making serious error, much moreso than my OEC brethren with whom I would have more in common.

I want to clarify the above as I seemed to indicate that I would withdraw from fellowship with theistic evolutionist Christians. I would not, as it obvious from the fact that we have several theistic evolutionists on staff and fellowship with each other is a requirement for all staff. My statement on tolerance was meant to indicate that in a debate, I likely wouldn't too oppose an OEC creation view because there is so much in common, but as far as origins, I have little in common with a TE view. I am sorry if the clarification seems tedious, but I realized that some of my TE brethren might have thought I was saying something that I was not.

Does anyone have a take on the Matt 22:41-46, Psalm 110 controversy. It seems that the usage of Lord is in question and it seems that Jews and deists think they have some sort of a smoking Gun against the trinity. I looked up a web page that held these views and it seems rather hinging on the Hebrew rendering of the word Lord. Here is a link to what I found.....>http://www.outreachjudaism.org/psalm110.html
Thanks
