Anybody ever use or even know about cat doors that can be installed in the wall?

Never used one - seen a variety in cat catalogs - few specific wall models though.
Why?
Edit: this is what I'd go for if I were installing one - no framing!

My brother didn't want to mess up his house for eventual resale, so he cut a piece of heavy subfloor plywood to fit a basement window and put the cat door in that.
Two run over cats later, he removed it completely.

Yeah, I may install them in interior doors but never an exterior unless I had cat fencing (which ain't cheap!).

I'm considering putting the kitty boxes outside the living space of my house but I don't allow my cats outside. I want a door for access either into my garage into an enclosed space, or out into my covered porch which will soon be partially enclose with wood lattice or screens in the upper part.
Haven't quite decided which yet but I want to move the boxes somewhere for sure.
To make it a little more interesting, one of my cats is 16 pounds and it's not ALL fat. There's an Hefty Cat Door but eh....

When I was a youngster, My Dad built a cat door into the wall of our utility room wall that went into the garage. He built it right above the dryer. After shoving the cat through the door a couple of times, (with the resulting scratches), He (the cat) learned to use it fine. When we went on vacation, we would close the utility room door, limiting the cat to that room.

Hm...above the dryer huh? I don't have an utility room but the washer/dryer are out in the garage...

It's what it sounds like - fencing to keep in cats. The metal stuff is expensive but the plastic mesh isn't - I don't like it as much, though.
When I get home I'll post a couple links.

If I should go the garage route, I've not decided if I want something like a caged area or go ahead with a simple room. The hookups are over by the water heater clear from the place I want to create access and I'm sure it would be labor intensive to move the plumbing and outlets down thataway.

You could just cut a hole and put a door through to the garage then cover it with a furnace-type vent cover when you are done having cats or ready to move.
I had to cut through the wall of the back room of my trailer once to get to a burst pipe. Rather than attempt the futile act of searching for matching panelling for a 30 year old trailer, I used one of these- about 16X22 did the deed quite nicely. You can see them, but they are such a mundane thing that you don't really notice them.

Kind of like the Dogwalk (http://www.thepetdoorstore.com/html/wall/dogwalk_wall.htm) but the double flaps (they all have those) kind seems overkill. They keep talking about insulating value but we really very rarely get freezing weather, and since I'm really leaning more towards the garage location, maybe not necessary. OTOH, at the non-shrinking door I like cuz we *do* swing upwards to 120 F !
