This mother had to make a difficult choice and didn't pretend that Gabriel wasn't a human person. Sickening that we have people here that would.

What I find especially hopeful is that in trying to terminate one of the twins they may have happened onto an effective way to save other babies with this problem in the future.

At first I thought that, but then she really thought it was the only way to save one of them, and to not agree would mean both of them would die. She wanted both babies and recognized their humanity

If this had been a case of elective abortion in which she just wanted to have one kid, and wanted to get rid of the other one, but he survived anyway, I doubt it would have made mainstream news
