I am under the impression that as a christian I am waiting for Jesus, but in the meantime what am I suppose to be doing on earth? With TBN showing in all countries it seems pointless to evangelize. Should I be spreading God's word to everyone I know? Should I just live life day to day? Am I suppose to mentor people? What does a christian do to serve Christ on earth?

Hello Mose. Thanks for the question.
First off, you have the wrong impression. We are not told to wait for Jesus. We are told to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. We are told to live holy and godly lives and speed his coming in 2 Peter 3. We are told to love our neighbor as ourselves. We are also told to do the Great Commission.
Secondly, is TBN doing it? I'm skeptical. TBN espouses many teachers that I would consider to be heretical. It also has too many times with the prosperity gospel.
You need to be out doing your own evangelism. Even if TBN was broadcasting the truth, not everyone is watching TBN. Not everyone is watching you either of course, but you need to be doing your part.
Thirdly, should you be spreading the gospel to everyone you know? YES! However, please note that that doesn't mean that you grab them all and say "Do you know Jesus?" to them. If you can speak well, great. However, remember that St. Francis of Assisi said "Spread the gospel. Use words if necessary."
How are you to live then? You mentioned mentoring people. That's great provided you know what you're talking about. I study Christian Apologetics. Maybe it's not for you. That's fine. There are several different parts of the body. Find what you excel in and pass it on.
How do you serve him though? Ultimately, you do what he commands and live accordingly in your internal and external life. You must walk as Jesus did. Read the epistles on this. I would most suggest 1 John.
Hope this helps!
