What version of IE/Windows are you using? Have you scanned for viruses? Had you downloaded any programs recent to when it started slowing down? Have you used a program like AdAware to check for spyware?

I'm sure that I'm using Windows 98. My computer at present has a system which, on its own, scans for various viruses, so I doubt that its that. My brother recently downloads an extremely complex paintball game which, I am sure, caused the slowness. I thought that if I deleted it, then the slowness would cease. But nothing happened. So, I'm lost there. Your last question is a no.

Go to http://lavasoft.de and download Ad Aware and run it, it will show you spyware that you can remove.

deleting that program would cause your HDD to be fragmented. I would suggest diong a defragment on the harddrive.

Also, which version of Windows are you running and how much memory do you have?
Have you recently installed any new programs? Is the hard drive light flickering a lot when you try and do things? Can you hear it?
