Terry Pratchett (my favourite author) just announced on Paul Kidby's website that he has a rare form of early Alzheimer's disease.

Oh, my goodness. :frown: Awww. That makes me sad. I've been a Pratchett fan for a long time. That must have been so frustrating for him to learn. He's got one of the funniest, most inventive minds I've seen in his genre. Good for him, though, to just keep right on working with his usual sense of humour. :thumb:
My two favourite books of his are Wyrd Sisters because I LOVE the Shakespeare references, and Mort because I love how sarcastic the character 'death' is.. (Guess that means I have a cracked sense of humour too, but hey.) Anyone else have a favourite book or two?

Sooo many to choose from.
I actually can't choose a particular one. I like all the ones with Granny Weatherwax in them. And the AMCW ones.
Storico, have you ever looked at the Annotated Pratchett Files where they have listings of all the real world things he is parodying?

Very sad. Still, he aitn't dead yet, to borrow a phrase from Granny Weatherwax.
(Huge fan of "Interesting Times". Got latest as an audiobook to fall asleep to!)

The Annotated Pratchett File (http://www.au.lspace.org/books/apf/) which was last updated in 2005.
The later books are being annotated in the new wiki (http://wiki.lspace.org/wiki/Main_Page) on lspace.org

I need to get Making Money for Christmas. (Since The Truth I've taken to getting the hardcover versions, they last longer than my paperbacks.
