I stand this morning in the need of prayer. Kneel is more like it, maybe even crumbled on the floor.

Last night (home coming)one of out Highschoolers was killed in a tragic car accident. It's still under investigation.

The highschool crises team, (to their credit) has called upon me to come and be with kids this evening at the home coming dance. So now I must go and stand with these children and offer what I can and all the time I will be screaming at God inside.

I am supposed to be the "non-anxious" presence. The one who can offer encouragement and hope, the one who can proclaim the power of the resurrection, and this morning I just don't feel it.

This child was too young. These children are too young to know such things. The wounds are barely healed for them from last springs death of one of their favorite teachers. And I have to admit to all of you and to God that I am angry and confused.

Please pray for me and please, pray for these children, and above all, pray that some how, we find a way to glorify God in the midst of all of this because I am hard pressed to find that way just now.

Peace,
Pilgrim

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of this all too young highschooler. I know you are deeply saddened and even somewhat angered at this. May God give you the desire to go and comfort these young people and encourage them as well, even in the midst of your own confusion. And may He be glorified even in this. for all.

Thank you for that. As I have been preparing my sermon for tomorrow morning and thinking and praying and reading scripture I am calming down a little.

Hopefully that calmness will lead to insight.

May God give you peace in this very hurtful time Pilgrim. I trust that you will be a great comfort to others who are hurting and angry as well. God can even take this absolutely heartwrenching situation and turn it around for good. Trust in Him.

Thanks Xmansmommy. The reminder to trust is much needed. Children seen to do it intuitively but we often have to learn and relearn that simply truth.
