Forgive me, I live in Mexico in the here and now, and movies tend to come out later here than in the US...

I just saw winged migration, a film dedicated to filming numerous varieties of birds in all sorts of locations en route to migrating south or back...

It was absolutely beautiful. They show some birds flying past the twin towers...and other beautiful sites.

I also just saw "The 25th Hour" a film by Spike Lee about a new-yorker guy who is about to go to jail for having been a drug-dealer.

It shows the two beams of lights, pictures on the wall after 9-11, and the wreckage of the twin-towers.

It really is an all-US-American movie. It was a very honest movie about the way we are here in the US. Honest about where greed and indifference to other people's misery has taken us in our lives...

I think the 25th Hour indicts that the chief sin we are guilty of in the US and need to reconsider post 9-11 is our not caring for others... . From us worrying about how too few unemployed workers causing inflation to us partying away, not caring that the joint is owned by the mafia and paid for, in part, with drug money made from the sufferings of others... to a teacher's ability to abuse his asymmetrical relationship with his student and undermine his role as a role-model to her.

I hated the 25th hour, just because I've never been so bored.

Yeah, that whole thinking during movies thing is an acquired taste...
