Ok...I'm looking to create a nice little web page for my band. Just a decent web page to put concert dates on. How do I go about creating these goofy things?

What software do I need?
Can I get any software for creating these things for free? :teeth:

I just have no idea where to get started. What do I use? Where do I go?
I figure you folks in here are way too smart for your own good anyways...so I'd be stoked to get a little bit of guidance.

Rock on...God bless...
Steven

grrr...computer programming.
Isn't there some lazy man's way???
like a program that you just make it look all pretty and it makes it a web page??

I'm not looking to spend actual time on this thing...i need a cheeseball web=page maker program where i just put pictures on it and it looks all cool.

Something that doesn't require technical jargon.

Yes...the childish html tutorial is over my head :hrm:

Try yahoo's web page stuff. Or if it is Christian try http://www.mychristiansite.com/

they have some good tools that are easy and best part free...

it's easy. most of the code is pretty intuitive (e.g. <body>...</body> is where you put all your content, <font> ... </font> is used to manipulate the contained text.)

my personal favorite tutorial site is:
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/

dunno how well they do HTML, though. i mainly use them for the CSS tutorials.

If you have Word, you can save word documents as HTML. In fact, most word processors can do this.

Usually when you signup with a net service provider they give you X amount of webspace and use wizards to allow you to customize it to an extent. If you really want a cheesy site you may just go that route since they generate all the code and everything for you, all you do is upload the pics and put in what you want it to say.

Don't I feel like a horse's patoot.

I only mock 90% of the time, 10% of that time I am sincere.

Html is not hard to learn. Imo, it's a lot easier to know what your page is made of so you can make minor adjustments without causing the whole world to stop turning. Cheese ball makers are okay but I think they limit one's creativity.

if you only want to upload photos, check out http://photos.yahoo.com . That may be what you're looking for.
