  • Stanford Rape Case Judge Removed from New Sex Crime Case

GOOD! He should have his head examined before he gets any more cases!

From what I heard he was a fairly well regarded judge by both prosecutors and defense attorneys before the Stanford case.

I'm always still in trouble again

He'd have to recuse himself for now on, it's no wonder he'd have to expect to step down from such cases.

Here is a similar case in another state. It's not identical circumstances, and a stiffer sentence does seem warranted, but it's how much less freedom the judge had in his decision that makes me think.

            Sounds like he is still.

Persky, who has reportedly faced death threats in the wake of the backlash has, however, received support from an unlikely source: the public defenders who represent indigent defendants in his Santa Clara county.

Several have told the Guardian the judge has a reputation for being fair to their clients and his apparent leniency in the Stanford swimmer case was in-keeping with his general approach to criminal cases.
