For the past few weeks I've been working on this -- the Classics Library is now its own website!
I still have a bit more work to do, but it is mostly done. I won't be running it myself, but it remains a valued and allied site for Tekton.
If you're interested, we're always in need of people to either find and photocopy classic works for us, or find photos or bio details for some of the authors that are lacking.

wow you look just like a poodle, JP.
Nice website.
Needs a search box and an index though.

Eniries under G. Frederick Wright and a fellow named Dana are probably about it. That wasn't an issue for most of the period the documents we have so far cover.

Ta very much. Might start an FYI thread in NatSci this evening.

Oh and one of your Dana bio links isn't right.

Also, JP, I see that the "return to the main page" links at the bottoms of the pages are typically incorrect: the "index.html" should follow the "classicalapologetics.com" immediately, instead of being categorized under the letter as it currently is.

Thanks. I noted on the site that this thread can be used for corrections and notices like the above. Either I or the webmaster will take care of it.
He'll take care of the Dana thing in about an hour or so. The other will take more time.

What an excellent resource!
It would be nice to eventually see a few works by Plantinga and John Frame added to the mix.

Charles Hodge deals with various aspects of the science of his day, including various theories of the of the origin of man, in his Systematic Theology (http://www.ccel.org/h/hodge/). See Volume II, Part II, Chapter I. Also, Volume I, Part I, chapters III & X may be useful.

Heyo, I've compiled a long list of broken links and minor errors on that page, and it'll be up tomorrow. I just need to make some edits and check up on some of the links. Unfortunately I can't do it on this computer, since apparently downloading huge amounts from a server makes it angry with you.
Right now I've been kicked off both tektonics.org, tektoonics.com and classicalapologetics.com, however I will finish this list tomorrow.

The format is simple, under each name, there's a short text which includes the link to make finding the spot easier. I've marked the link itself with bold, and written the URL in the link under it. At the bottom of each paragraph I've written the particular error. I have also, when it was possible, tried to figure out what the URL should have been. In that case, I've noted what my best guess is. Anything marked with a question mark (?), means that I'm a little uncertain.
Due to me no longer having access to tektonics, I couldn't check out the links to mr. H's articles, and I'll leave checking up the links in W, for someone else.
Hope this was useful.

Ok.
Do you recommended a particular translation? What dialogue should I start with?
Aquinas didn't write any dialogues. At least none that I know of.
Now if you were to read Plato, the most important one to read is the Republic.
For Aquinas, I'd just start at the beginning, but it's good to have a knowledge of Aristotle as well. The Summa's really tough in a lot of places.
As for translation, I have none I favor in particular at this point.

Good stuff! Erm, classic.
To the Chesterton links, this page (http://www.cse.dmu.ac.uk/~mward/gkc/books/index.html) might be added. And I do have to do a Chesterton quote.
The life of a thinking man will probably be divided into two parts-- the first in which he desires to exterminate modern thinkers, and the second in which he desires to watch them exterminating each other... Suppose, for instance, there is an old story and a new sceptic who is skeptical of the story. We have only to wait a little while for a yet newer skeptic who is skeptical of the skeptic. He will probably find the old notion actually a help in his new notion. This process is an abstract truth applying to anything, apart from agreement or disagreement.
Blessings,
Lee

Pimptastic quote.
Interesting that Chesterton was already aware of how some forms of skepticism would take a "multiplying" factor that would create a bit of a "vicious circle".

JP, in our eternal email about books that I find around town, I've asked about a couple books by a guy named A.B. (Alexander Balmain) Bruce, whom you haven't heard of, or haven't heard of the particular titles I mentioned. Today I found another one by Bruce in my college's library sale simply called Apologetics, published in 1905. I looked under Bruce's name on the Classic Apologetics website and this book isn't listed there.
The full bibliographic data: Alexander Balmain Bruce. Apologetics: Or, Christianity Defensively Stated. (International Theological Library series). Originally published by Charles Scribner's Sons: 1892, but I have the 8th edition from 1905: Scribner (if that means anything). It's over 500 pages and looks VERY intriguing.
