I made a similar poll over at Infidels (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44257) and I was just curious to see what the results here would be like.

Did you want to know if we are Chrisitans or not?

let us know if the results are that different. I chose centrist, but only because that was the best category available...

Hey Korihor whats up man? I havent exchanged posts with you in a while.
Okay now about the poll...
I really dont know what to choose. I agree with the Republicans on some issues, but also agree with the Democrats on some issues.
I guess socailly I would be described as more conservative than liberal, although not by a large margin.
Does that make me "center" in your poll?

Solly, it doesn't really matter to me.
Hi Steadele. Haven't seen you at II for a while either. As for your question, I wouldn't really know. Whereabouts would you fit on this political compass (http://www.politicalcompass.org/) test?

Here are the results from the Infidels (http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=44257) thread with 132 votes:
Absolutist conservatism: 3 votes -- 2.27%
Fiscal and social conservatism: 2 votes -- 1.52%
Libertarianism: 25 votes -- 18.94%
Centrist: 41 votes -- 31.06%
Democratic socialism: 51 votes -- 38.64%
Authoritarian socialism: 3 votes -- 2.27%
Anarchy: 7 votes -- 5.30%
Theocracy: 0 votes -- 0%
The poll is slightly different because I could post more options.
If the Infidels forum was a parliamentary democracy, it would be a centrist/libertarian/fiscal & social conservative coalition government with the democratic socialists taking the role as the official opposition party.

Yeah, I havent been posting much on II because of two reasons:
1. Bad attitudes
2. Not enough Time
Too many people took an arrogant stance when discussing things with me, so I just decided to not post often. If people cant admit when they are wrong, then I just dont have time for them. The atheists here use the same arguments and evidence but can see the fact that the Theists do have some good arguments.
I like talking with reasonable people and those who werent reasonable over there outnumbered the reasonable ones....so I decided to cut down on my posting.
As to the test......Interesting test. I had a hard time answering some of the questions, but here are the results.
Economic Left/Right -2.62
Libertarian/Authoritarian 0.87
So I guess Im slightly left economically and slightly authoritarian.

I'm sorry you found II that way. As a moderator there in the Formal Debate fora though, I try to set a higher standard for decorum.
Your rating from the political compass would probably put you in the centrist category (though it's a pretty broad category, I admit).

What do I most identify with? None of the above. No choice for that, so I didn't get to vote.
:uneasy:
I like a balance of the second and fourth choices. Both have things to offer.
I consider myself to be middle-of-the-road in US politics, but not necessarily "centrist" (however you happen to define that).

I think the poll is obviously weighted in favor of "centrist" category.
I mean, my actual category is the same as that of Hitler, but as a fascist I am trying to get others under my evil spell and so I'm not going to just come out and say that.
People are just too ignorant about the truths of fascism.

I love being the moderator! I can add options to the poll!!! I'm a mix.

Wait, was "mix of 2,3 & 4" there before? Hot dang, I can vote for that one!
:joy:
Oh, it was Pilgrim! Thanks, dude.

Yeah, but now you have to also allow for an option that permits the person to specify the weights given to the different options and any other clarifying details...
This should result in each person who takes the poll having their own category...

Well.. for the poll I put fiscal & social conservative because that's what I thought I was, but the political compass put me at:
Economic Left/Right: -.25
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -.15
so now I'm just not sure..
Are there any more online checkers or something with two dimensions so I can get a second opinion?

Awww, I wanna vote for pilgrim's addition. How about socially conservative, fiscally socialist/liberal?

well, that's not quite the mix I was thinking but I guess everyone stirs up in his or her own special way.

DLW, on a serious note, at least we don't have high levels of anxiety from people who can't think about going to the doctor cos they can't afford medical insurance or doctor's bills.
Robert Heinlein, no liberal, said that a society that does not look after its women and children is doomed.

That's true.
What can I say, the US is way over individualistic and thanks to our narrow-pursuit of overturning Roe-V-Wade the economic conservatives have been able to gain ground over the past thirty years and at the same time lots of folks have just given up on voting...

Fiscally I'm a socialist, but socially I can't tell whether I'm liberal or ultra-conservative. That quiz says I'm:
Economic Left/Right: -6.38
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.41
My score is almost identical to those of Ghandi and the Dalai Lama.
