According to the link below, there were no shots fired at the medical facility which is where the incident started. They also say some restrictions are lifted but all that may mean is they've dropped from the highest alert level, which is pretty much wartime level, to the next lowest, which is still very tight security actions. Stay tuned folks.

OK, so, from that source....

It looks increasingly like the report of an active shooter at the base was a hoax. Although no official word has yet come down on this, several news reports have suggested the calm demeanor of everyone involved in the aftermath of the report suggests this was a drill all along.

According to the AirForceTimes....

On the base's official Facebook page, Andrews said that the reports of the active shooter came in at about 9 a.m. Thursday. Andrews had planned to conduct an active shooter exercise today, but the lockdown was in response "to a real world report of an active shooter" and is not a drill, the base said on Facebook.
