Lord Jesus how do I cast my burdens on you and leave them at your feet? I know it must involve more than just prayer because I have prayed because I have asked you to take them from me yet I still carry some of them.
Could it be that I am evil and therefore you won’t have anything to do with me?
***I think not because you died for sinners like me!
Could it be that you are busy with someone whose burdens are heavier than mine?
***I think not because you are a personal Savior, a personal friend and through the mystery of Your Spirit you are in and through all people at the same time!
Could it be that my prayers are ineffective?
***It’s possible but I think not because I have faith in you and I know that the power of prayer does not lie within me but within you!
Could it be that I am unwilling to give them up for some unknown reason?
***It’s possible!
Could it be that they have been lightened and I am still carrying them?
***That too is possible!
Could it be that the burdens I now carry are for the refining of my life?
***That too is possible!
Could it be that the burdens I now carry are for the refining of another’s life?
***That too is possible!
Could it be that the burdens I now carry are the result of unrepentant transgressions?
***That too is possible!
Could it be that the burdens I now carry are consequences of wrong choices from the past?
***That too is possible!
Could it be that the burdens I now carry are a combination from some of the above?
***That too is possible!
Deep within I need to be free of those burdens that seek to destroy my relationship with you, others, and myself. I need to learn from the ones will strengthen and deepen my relationship with you, others, and myself. In you, Lord Jesus, rests all wisdom, all knowledge I seek but a small portion, just enough to discover the things I need to discover.
