Hello, I have a rat terrier dog. She's a little over a year old and is fun to have around and all that.

There is one weird thing about her though. You see I have a male cat also (he's fixed) and my god has been well trying to "hump" I suppose him. She will do this periodically and frankly it kind of freaks me out. Any reason for this behavior?

That's fairly normal behavior, and the dog is likely just trying to show dominance, this is often done to other dogs, male or female. Although, it is certainly a possibility that your dog is gay, we're fairly sure that one of our dogs is gay, and homosexuality occurs in other animal species. But as I said before, it's likely simply an attempt to show dominance.

Can't be a lesbian dog, the cat is male. It is a trans-speciesist dog.

Just trying to show dominance eh? I suppose that fits in with her sudden aggressive attitude toward strangers.

I wish more women would show some dominate behavior over me. Ah, just kidding, kinda, but ya I am, more or less.

Oops, sorry, this is probably what I get for not reading closely sometimes.

It could be a female cat trapped in a female dog's body. The possibilities are endless.

The aggression towards strangers might correlate, but it's hard to say if she's not just doing that because it's a stranger. My guess is that the dog is trying to show dominance within what she views as her "pack". We have dachshunds, and our females have tried to mount the males dogs.

Yeah, it's just a dominance thing. Back when we still had them, our littlest dog was fixed and everything and still used humping to put our other, much bigger dog in his place. He didn't even seem to notice, but then he was a total pushover.
