“For this is how God loved the world: he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. For God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but so that through him the world might be saved. No one who believes in him will be judged; but whoever does not believe is judged already, because that person does not believe in the Name of God's only Son.” {John 3:16 – 3:18 NJB}
Just over two thousand years ago Jesus knelt in a garden and facing the greatest decision of his life took a chance on us and prayed, “Not my will but your will.” I am so grateful that Jesus took a chance on me! Over the years I’ve on more than one occasion no doubt let him down. But Jesus unlike me is trustworthy and faithfully dedicated to my spiritual welfare has never let me down!
A little over a year ago R. Adam Quigley owner of Natural Spirit Ministries took a chance on a no name “author wanna be” name Gary Piper. A short time ago Dee Dee Warren owner of Theology Web took a chance on a NSM staff writer name Gary Piper and appointed him Chaplain. I am so grateful these two pioneers stood at the edge and stepped into the unknown!
The old Star Trek series stated out with Captain Kirk saying something like this, “Space the final frontier.” I’d like to say that space is not the final frontier our lives are the final frontier. As Jesus looked deep into his heart that fateful night so long ago and felt our separation from God he prayed with a pioneering spirit and gave himself without reservation to each of us. It is that same pioneering spirit that prompted R. Adam Quigley and Dee Dee Warren to take a chance on me.
We are pioneers, you and I on the edge of the greatest discovery of all time the discovery of each other. But our first step it is take a chance on Jesus and allow His Spirit to flood every part of our lives and then allow the Overflow of Spirit to flood into each other!
Jesus took a chance!
R. Adam Quigley took a chance!
Dee Dee Warren took a chance!
How about you? Seek out someone who may need someone to take a chance on them!
It’s what Jesus does!
