Of all the self-help books available today the Bible stands as a standard for all to be compared with! And in the aftermath of that comparison you'll discover there is no comparison! One of the greatest truths you'll discover between it's covers is there is no such thing as self-help! Those who struggle for self-sufficiency are doomed to struggle alone and will eventually discover the truthfulness of the words prophesied long ago by Isaiah. "All other kings of nations, all of them, lie honourably, each in his own tomb; but you have been thrown away, unburied, like a loathsome branch, covered with heaps of the slain pierced by the sword who fall on the rocks of the abyss like trampled a dead body." {Isaiah 14:18 - 14:19 NJB}

But do not despair and think because you can not help yourself there is no hope take joy in the words of another prophet named Paul. "And all these things which were written so long ago were written so that we, learning perseverance and the encouragement which the scriptures give, should have hope. Now the God of perseverance and encouragement give you all the same purpose, following the example of Christ Jesus, so that you may together give glory to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ with one heart. {Romans 15:4 - 15:6 NJB}

The Bible lays beneath the branches of your life neatly packaged and waiting for you to unwrap it, waiting for you to inhale the live sustaining breath of words fit for a Celestial King. If you'll listen close enough you'll hear the authors of its books say, "When you are directionless come to us and the Holy Spirit will light the way for you go. When hopelessness fills your life come to us and the Holy Spirit will give you hope. When conflict is all you see on the horizon come to us and the Holy Spirit will carry you beyond the horizon."
