Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
Lent… a time of personal reflection and discovery

Moments before Jesus returned to his place of origin (heaven we call it) he sent his disciples on a journey, a journey he’d been preparing them to travel even before they knew him. It would be lifelong mission trip that would include being the hands of Jesus in a world starving for the loving touch of Jesus.

Shortly after entering the upper room Jesus washed the disciple’s feet preparing them for the journey he would be sending them on. He was not only illustrating their ultimate calling as his servants at the same time he was telling them the while the journey was theirs it was ultimately for him and not for themselves. “I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.” (John 13:15–17, NLT)

To me the Lenten Season is not only a time of preparation for Holy Week it is also a time of personal reflection and discovery. Not a day goes by but what I don’t find myself wondering where I best fit in God’s Master Plan for my life. However, having said that I must admit this morning’s Glory Seed has been painful to write because I have not always been the willing servant I should have been.

While Jesus has never washed my feet as he did the disciples never-the-less servants of his have come in and out of my life everyday for nearly 68 years. And when I stop and consider that Jesus not only gave his life for me but because others have given their lives to him, though them he as sustained my life I find myself not only on a journey of repentance but one of discovery and rededication as well.

Serving Jesus is not just about washing feet it’s about touching lives, your life, my life, and their life! Serving does not always involve the use of our hands but it always involves the use of our love for God and the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit, continue taking me by the hand and leading me on a personal journey of reflection, repentance, and discovery as I join Jesus on his walk to the cross and beyond. Amen.

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

“Then the disciple who had reached the tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed—for until then they still hadn’t understood the Scriptures that said Jesus must rise from the dead. Then they went home.” (John 20:8–10, NLT)

    Amen Gary.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
