Hello everyone and welcome to my new thread. I want to take this time to thank you all for you responses to my thread on "Gay Clergy".

Throughout the history of Christ's Holy Church many doctrines have come and gone, but they have all had one thing in common; the Godhead. Many doctrines use the scripture in Matthew, 28:19-20, where Jesus tells His disciples to "Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." In retaliation other doctrines, such as the Apostolics, use Acts 2:38, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost." Keep in mind that when Peter stood in the midst of the multitude the Holy Ghost had already descended and therefore he was under the anointing of God when he spoke.

My question to you is which doctrine is accurate?

Bishop,
Both texts are accurate, the problem is with the Oneness interpretation of them. Having been a member of the UPC I quite familiar with how they are taught to pick and choose the texts in order to favor a unitarian interpretation (heck, I used the arguments myself, until I was shown the inconsistencies of their view).

We need to look at what the ENTIRE bible says on a given subject (in this case the Godhead) rather than reading into a text something that isn't there.

If you'd like me to elaborate, just let me know.
