Be careful what you look for you may miss something important! One day while reading the following scripture I was intrigued by what Jesus was writing on the ground. Thinking because John included it in his book it must have been something very important so I began searching for something or someone who could tell me what it was Jesus wrote. They asked him this as a test, looking for an accusation to use against him. But Jesus bent down and started writing on the ground with his finger. As they persisted with their question, he straightened up and said, "Let the one among you who is guiltless be the first to throw a stone at her." Then he bent down and continued writing on the ground. When they heard this they went away one by one, beginning with the eldest, until the last one had gone and Jesus was left alone with the woman, who remained in the middle. Jesus again straightened up and said, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" “No one, sir," she replied. "Neither do I condemn you," said Jesus. "Go away, and from this moment sin no more."
{John 8:6 - 8:11 NJB}
The more I searched the more mysterious and elusive words became until it almost became an obsession.
After getting frustrated because I kept coming up empty the thought suddenly occurred to me it wasn’t what Jesus was doing that was important it was what he was saying! The Apostle Paul wrote: May he (God) enlighten the eyes of your mind so that you can see what hope his call holds for you, how rich is the glory of the heritage he offers among his holy people, and how extraordinarily great is the power that he has exercised for us believers…
{Ephesians 1:18 - 1:19 NJB}
The adversities you experience today will cause you to look else where for relief yet within those adversities is a power so powerful it created the heavens and earth, so powerful the forces of hell could not stop it. It is the power of Jesus Christ. As the Jesus' disciples hung on for dear life as the boat they were riding was battered by a storm it wasn't the power of the storm they discovered it was the power Jesus.
You don’t need to be Superman to see through things you need Jesus Christ. And may the eyes of your mind be open to blessings God offers you through the Ministry of Jesus.
If Jesus isn’t… … …You aren’t!
