Have you ever wondered why many of the people Jesus healed were left nameless? Take for instance the following story.
"After he had come down from the mountain large crowds followed him. Suddenly a man with a virulent skin-disease came up and bowed low in front of him, saying, "Lord, if you are willing, you can cleanse me." Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And his skin-disease was cleansed at once. Then Jesus said to him, "Mind you tell no one, but go and show yourself to the priest and make the offering prescribed by Moses, as evidence to them." {Matthew 8:1 - 8:4 NJB}
I don't have an answer that will satisfy everyone but I look at it this way so long as the people in the story are nameless I can put my name in it! Take for instance the following story. After Jesus had come down from the mountain large crowds followed him. Suddenly a man name Gary Piper with a sin-disease came up and bowed low in front of him, saying, "Lord, if you are willing, you can cleanse me." Jesus stretched out his hand and touched Gary saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And Gary's sin-disease was cleansed at once. Then Jesus said to Gary, "Mind you go tell everyone!" (You'll need to forgive me for changing the last sentence.)
And remember just because I put my name in the story doesn't mean you can't here try this one. After Jesus had come down from the mountain large crowds followed him. Suddenly a man name _______________________ with a sin-disease came up and bowed low in front of him, saying, "Lord, if you are willing, you can cleanse me." Jesus stretched out his hand and touched __________ saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And __________ sin-disease was cleansed at once. Then Jesus said to ___________, "Mind you go tell everyone!"
Over the next few weeks you shouldn't be surprised to find a few more "put yourself in the story" messages like this one.
Jesus lives... ... ...So you can!
