Now I see how Hindus turned against the Christians, who ignored the second commandment, to hate and persecute them. It is the rule of all people not only Christians. So we the selfish self-centered well-off Hindus were driven out of east Bengal province by the poor neglected Muslims. Same thing happened in Kandhamal. Those Christians became well-off and neglected to give that love to others.
Persecution comes to very good Christians, who are very rare and to numerous lax Christians. Former becomes fruitful by it and so thanks for it. But persecution to lapsed Christians breaks them as it is happening here.
They point out that charity organizations were also attacked in Kandhamal. Private loving of neighbor and organizational service is totally different. People here say that organizations get money for their charitable activities and misappropriate from that fund. They often live high than the people they serve. So people can’t love them as they don’t see self-sacrifice like Christ. People always love self-sacrificing people.
So when I started evangelical charity among Muslims I began to live in nearly same level. They at first refused to give house on rent. But seeing that I am living like them and serving them on my own, not on donated money, they eagerly invited me in their homes. Soon many Muslims sought baptism.
But alas! Many of them turned self-centered. So they are losing the esteem of others and spiritually degrading.
These homeless wounded Kandhamal people or any other people in like situation need the example of our self-sacrificing love to them. Only by that way we can help them to regain Christ and people’s love. Money and worldly help if not accompanied by that example is futile.
