I know the kid's been around a while, but I just discovered him. I posted a coupla months ago that the secular radio station we get piped into my office was playing the Christian song, "I Can Only Imagine," by Mercy Me (Thanks, Cirisme, for telling me who the artist was - I've now downloaded everything I can find by them).

I figured it was a rare thing to hear a Christian song on secular radio. Well, this morning, the same station played a song by Josh Groban called, "You Raise Me Up," from his new cd which is going to be released November 11 (called "Closer"). The guy's voice is so very captivating (one of the women I work with was convinced it was Andrea Bocelli), we all just stopped to listen to it. I immediately went on his website (http://www.joshgroban.com/) and advance-ordered the cd.

I think you can listen to some of the music on the website and even buy a special internet edition for way to much $.

I'd be interested to know if anyone is as impressed as I am.

The dude sounds like he got kicked one time too hard.

You've got the right guy but I disagree about the kicking thing. The new cd seems to have a bunch of crossover stuff on it. "You Raise Me Up," sounds like a classic Christian ballad. His voice is just awesome. He's adorable, too. I want to adopt him. (I think I've said those things about Hamster, too...anyone know if he sings?)

There goes his innocence. He is gonna be singing P.I.M.P. before the weeks end :shifty:

I'll take excellent care of him, boom! Don't you worry!

Have any of you gone to listen to the new tune on the website yet?

I think I might be about as impressed as you are. Groban has a truly fantastic voice. I would really love to hear him do an album with Kazuhito YamaEDITMEEDITMEEDITMEEDITMEa, or some other guitarist, but the odds of that happening are virtually nill. That's a shame too; his voice would go very well with a classical guitar.

I wasn't aware that there was an internet edition of his forthcoming album available, thanks for pointing it out. Got my copy pre-ordered. :teeth:
