View Full Version : Favorite Breakfast Cereals?

It's about 3pm here central time, and I just had a nice snack. Captin Crunch Crunchberries.

It was quite good, though I seriously wonder how the cereal companies can market what is effectively candy to kids as part of a "nutritious breakfast". I guess the nutritious part is everything else...

Anyway, that's beside the point. What is your favorite breakfast cereal?

Mine (still at 31 years old almost 25 years later)... is Fruity Pebbles. I could eat a half box in a sitting if I felt like it. Yummmz.

Ready ... and ... Go!

But of what cereals? I have never heard of Red River Hot Cereal before (for example).

We had a cereal thread recently I think.

I don't have a favorite really. I like Corn Pops, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Raisin Nut Bran, Frosted Flakes.

A lot of people like Fruity Pebbles, but mom always told me how bad it was because of the sugar and too much food coloring which is unhealthy.

Golden Grahams, Grape Nuts, Raisin Bran, Kashi GoLean

I love Life. Boring, but I love it. I have for a long, long time and I never get tired of it. No one else I've ever lived with liked it very much, so no one eats it when I'm not looking. (Although there must be others of us because they keep making it after all these years.)

Fruity Pebbles also. Followed closely by Coco Rice Krispies.

Favorite cereal of my childhood: Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch

Favorite cereal of my adulthood: Honey Bunches of Oats w/ Almonds... and Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch too. :)

I guess Red River is Canadian.

I had it all the time as a kid, my kids had it when they were growing up, and I have recently started eating it every morning again. It's yummy!

And you can buy it online!

:stunned:

It's cheaper at the grocery store, let me tell you.

I really like Cinnamon Life. It doesn't stay in stock at our local groceries, so we get it when we can.

The Malt-o-Meal brand version of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, because it's cheaper.

Cinnamon Life and the regular variety are both good, but the other variety I tried (chocolate, IIRC) wasn't.

There was an apple version of Life . . . might still be, I dunno . . . that was pretty good.
ETA: I just checked, and it looks like the Baked Apple Life was discontinued a while back. Plus, it was only available in a small location. I guess I got lucky. Other than the regular and Cinnamon versions, everything else seems to get discontinued pretty fast.

Ok, that is a defilement of chocolate. Chocolate should be kept pure and untainted. Also that strawberry milk makes me think of this girl I encountered who put ketchup on everything, including her corn flakes (along with milk, btw). Well, whatever floats your boat.

I like those chocolate curl things? I think coco pops has a version. Nummy. But the best breakfast is chocolate spread on white bread and a glass of chocolate milk.

Post Blueberry Morning or Raisin Bran Crunch.

Blueberry Morning is great, but by the end of the box all you get is a bowl of blueberries.

Hmmm...Honey Nut Cheerios or Cheerios for health's sake. capn crunch is pretty high on the list too.

But really, my normal breakfast favorite is two eggs scrambled, wheat toast and strawberry jam (sugar free if they have it) bacon, and cups of coffee.

So standard is that breakfast that when I saunter into my usual breakfast haunts now I don't even order. My favorite waitress sees me coming and puts the order in with out asking.

I have Cinnamon Life or Strawberry Mini Wheats. Occasionally, I like a box of Quaker (or suchlike) granola. I liked this granola with lots o fruity bits in it, but stopped buying it when it got $7.00 a (not very large) box.

Cocoa Pebbles all the way. :thumb:

btw, they have a Maple and Brown Sugar Life now...I know, I accidently poured a bowl and took a bite thinking it was Cinnamon. I didn't eat it because I really wanted the Cinnamon Life but the M&BS wasn't bad.

I wanted to bump this, I tried the new Fiber One Honey Clusters. Out of this world good, and it has 51% of your daily fiber in one serving. That is insane. And I am not kidding, it is hands down the best healthy cereal I have ever eaten, if not the best cereal I have ever eaten.
