What exactly is Liberal Arts? Is this an occupation that is held by someone who is a socialistic painter? A tax and spend artist? A tree hugging hippy who is into body painting?
Please, what does it all mean?

Actually I have to put in the announcement. I am trying to set the structure up first. This will be a non-debate section where a poster can ask a specific group ie. Calvinists to explain TULIP, without opposition from opposing views. :)

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Liberal Arts School?" Well the meaning goes back a long time back into the middle ages. It denotes seven branches of learning where a young man will go to learn. At this time women were forbidden to go into schools. Today the defintion mostly applies to private funded institutions like your seminaries and other English housing that take their pride in analytical arts of literature. Oxford University, Harvard, and Yale now are known as liberal arts universities. Although you won't hear it much anymore.

True, for instance, Alden and I go to a liberal arts school.
Alden is a bit more conservative than I.

Where do you go? I just got out of school and pursuing degrees in Ornithology. Although I am a Christian and I plan to go to seminary soon. Probably Trinity Seminary in Indiana or Free Will Baptist College in Tennessee (I am interested in just biblical apologetics, not if they are Arminian).

This really takes me back... back to the first day. We were purple, and we even debated about the smilies. The fiercest debate that day was what smiley should be ;)
