Peter Hitchens, (Mail on Sunday Columnist and brother to arch-atheist Christopher Hitchens) is a staunch Christian and has a fascinating discussion with Ibrahim Mogra of the Muslim Council of Britain on whether Islam is poised to become the dominant religion in Britain and whether Islam or Christianity is the best future for the UK.

Nabeel Qureshi Of Acts 17 Apologetics ministry converted to Christianity from Islam after being convinced that the weight of evidence was in favour of Christian faith. Yahya Seymour's story is the opposite - he became a Muslim after having a Christian upbringing. They discuss the issues in advance of debates coming up in London.

Which is the best religion for the UK--Islam or Christianity? Let's ask Reza F. Safa--author of "Inside Islam" who was born and raised a devout Shiite Muslim in the Middle East.

" The spirit of Islam is rising up throughout the world. Islam is beginning to retrieve its former status as a world power, a power which appropriates new territories (Great Britain) by force, fear, war, bloodshed ( don't forget legal immigration in order to take over). Since 1979 the world has witnessed the unprecedented violence of terrorist activities committed by Muslim (not Christian) fundamentalists throughout North Africa and the Middle East. The West, (Great Britain, France, Denmark, Sweden, Holland) but especially the United States, has been the primary target of hatred and violence for Muslim fundamentalist groups." p.12

"What is Islam? Islam is a very complicated and complex religion, far from Judeo-Christian understanding. Many political analysts, scholars and journalists have made untiring efforts to define and analyze Islam. Much research has been done, many interviews have been recorded and many books have been written; yet Islam remains an obscure, obtuse, irrational sort of ideology to the mind and culture of the Western society. p.18

To a Muslim, Islam is a complete system that encompasses every aspect of society. The Muslim asserts that the laws of Islam meet not only the religious and the moral codes of society, but the political, economical and ethical codes as well. We must realize that many of the teachings of Islam are a reflection of Arabian culture and society of the 7th century. Many rituals and practices enforced by Islam can be traced back to pre-Islamic Arabia. One researcher points out, "Archeological and linguistic work done since the latter part of the 19th century has unearthed overwhelming evidence that Muhammad constructed his religion and the Koran from pre-existing material in Arabian culture.p.19

The goal of Islam is to produce a theocracy with Allah as the ruler of society, a society with no separation between religion and state. This society would have no democracy, no free will and no freedom of expression." p.19

Great Britain--start thinking about whether you want Sharia Law landing on the back of your necks, wrists or ankles with absolutely no power to stop it. Once Sharia Law becomes the norm you are screwed. Especially the women whose husbands can beat them and divorce them by saying three times "I divorce you.' Start thinking British women whether you want to spend your whole life with four husbands and their "temporary marriages" which only get men into paradise with 72 virgins--while you as a woman are guaranteed no place in the afterlife. Start thinking women whether you want a male dominated society that says if you are even accused of adultery you must strap on a suicide bomb to regain your honor. Islam is a religion for men. It prefers men and dominates and subjugates their own Muslim women, children, Jews, Christians and any other non-Muslims. I am talking about THE NORM--not a few cases. THE NORM in the Muslim world.

Start thinking Great Britain before you are totally taken over by this Arabian culture of "TAQIYYA" which has since the 7th century used lying and deception to subjugate their victims. Start thinking Great Britain because all your women are about to be forced to put on the chador or burka. Any "freedom" you have formerly known will be obsolete.

Start thinking because you are about to fall.

I do not agree with islam in regards to their theology regarding Jesus but I don't think Islam is bad in every way. Most people who have contributed to science significantly have not been the people of so-called 'enlightened' religions like buddhism, hinduism, or wicca, but people of the abrahamic line such as jews and christians, and islam is one of them, since muslims played a part in helping alchemy to evolve, among other things, so it does not totally supress all expression and research.

Also I am glad that muslims are killing the moral offenders of christians and jews so that we don't have to be held accountable for comitting those crimes since our religion condemns it, but at the same time it works in our favor because it saves us the trouble of having to put up with these ingrates. I find it ironic when people treat Islam as the primary threat, yet ignore the silencing and persecution of christians in places like Canada for preaching or even speaking out against feminism and homosexuality, which is a secular government that can be just as opressive as some islamic ones, yet lacks the morality of islamic teachings which is of a similar caliber to christian ones, even if their theology and the extent to which they apply that law may be questionable. It's just that in Canada it is somewhat more subtle, but still enslaving. From what I know, speaking ill of islam is also forbidden in canada while strangely still allowing christianity to be mocked. If this is true, this will allow Islam to gain a foothold in Canada and destroy their postmodern politically correct standards. Even if they do oppose christians, I'd rather have judeo-christian morality or something similar instead of people outraged that christians would condemn them for wanting to have sex with their pets. I also want to see europe and other secular countries have an islamic awakening. Why? When europe was conquered by the muslims, that christians came and overthrew them and tried to instate THEIR religion instead, which is something that did not stick. Every country that has ever been muslim is still muslim, for the most part, and christianity is too passive to keep vulgar societies from slipping out of its grip in contrast to islam. So in my opinion the christians didn't do a very good job.
