If you haven't come across it do check out the discussion between Richard Bauckham and James Crossley.

Bauckham's book "Jesus and the Eyewitnesses" has been hailed as a paradigm shift in New Testament scholarship with its compelling arguments for the Gospels being eyewitness testimony.
