I'm steamed!

Our DM for AD&D 3.5 is creative and encyclopedic on the rules. His weakness is that his game ideas are rigid. Once he develops a plot, he won't change it for any player realities. We were running a group around 10th level and I was playing a Hobbit Fire Domain Wizard (Blaster). I told our DM that I was going on vacation and would be out of the country for two weeks. He goes right ahead and throws White Dragons and Cold Elementals (that are all susceptible to Fire) at our party when I'm not there just because he had already planned the encounter. I come back and find we had a group-wipe. :argh:

Now we've abandoned that game and started a new one. Darn it! I really liked my little guy. I had a trained war dog to ride and everything. :sigh:

I'm just glad I have access to the world's oddest "Dear Abby" column.

He's back. Our weekday DM has allowed me to bring my hobbit wizard into his game as a substitute to the characters I was playing in his game. I had a human conjurer in his game. I just never felt comfortable running him. I had to keep separate character sheets on every monster that I could summon and track their experience. The extra paperwork killed it for me.

My blaster purchased his war dog at a magical city. I picked up handle animal to control it. It delivers great damage on a bite, but it's to-hit sucks. I generally use it for fast movement and only use it for combat in an emergency.
