Hi, I'm trout, I kill stuff and eat it.

I taught my kids to kill stuff and eat it.

I've spent time on the kill floor in slaughter houses and packing plants.

I've killed and eaten fish, chickens, pigs, lambs, deer, elk, rabbits, bears, grouse, pheasants, doves, ducks, geese .... etc.

I've always felt it's important to remind oneself that we are in fact in the food chain. I know we here in America have a lusty appetite for all things meat. I feel though most are too far removed from the actual slaughter.

I have some friends who are vegan, the only reason being, they could not kill something themselves and eat it. I think that's a pretty consistent reason.

I see as technology becomes more and more a part of our lives, it's somewhat replacing many of the things that connect us to the natural world. It worries me a little.

I think if we're gonna consume the flesh of animals, we should be also willing to do the killing.

Who's with me?

My Dad used to hunt and fish. And I fished with him.

We ate many a pheasant and duck and many, many trout and salmon that we got out of the wild.

But I don't feel like fishing anymore. It's too boring.

You would have no problem butchering some pheasants though; right?

Back when I hunted one of the rules is that we ate what we killed.

Sure, as long as you go along with my proposal that you cannot use a computer unless you first learn to program.

I'd go along with that.

Yes. But I would pluck them. And dig the buckshot out of their flesh so I don't break my teeth.

I read this as that you'd dig the buckshot out of their flesh with your teeth. Savage Canuckistanis.

This bring up the question of whether or not Canuckistanis should eat the baby seals that they club.

You never got the hang of either?

Unless you're a paraplegic there's no need to "get the hang" of a tricycle, they are specifically designed to be used by anyone. Same with buckshot.

Why'd you have a hard time with them then?

I don't kill what I eat any more. My body does not like the effort involved in butchering, and packing a moose out of the bush. Used to did though.

Call me a sissy if you will, but I like eating mostly dead beasts, not live ones.

I disagree with hunting game for sport. Fish catch and release is one thing. (they have only a net work of nerves and rely on nervous instinct) But killing anything with a brain and fur needs a REALLY good reason, not just sport. so you'd better be eating it and tanning hides or selling the meat.

You do realize that potatoes are alive when you put them in the oven, don't you?

Didn't hear them screaming. It's all good.

And the beef that went with them was pretty good, too.
