You have said strong words against God -- arrogant words. You have spoken definitively harsh words against Almighty God. Against his Spirit, you have fortified a language of combativeness.
Yet you say, "What could we have possibly said against him?"
You said, "It is meaningless to serve God; it is realistically futile. What do I gain from obeying him -- from cleansing my heart, from ceasing to be double-minded? How do I profit from being convicted from my sin, from weeping the fact that I offended Almighty God with my iniquity? I see that the arrogant live happy lives; the proud are successful in their pursuits. Look upon the criminally-minded and how they prosper. Those who challenge God escape his justice."
But those who approach the throne of Almighty God in fear and trembling pour out their complaints with a desperate cry. God attentively listens. Before him is a book of remembrence. Therein is a record of all those who earnestly love and obey him.
"They are mine!" says Almighty God, "I possess them! Because I regard them as sons and daughters, I will spare them from my wrath."
There will be a time when the righteous will be distinguished from the unrighteous. God will make known those who serve him, and those who show him contempt.
"The day of reckoning is swiftly approaching. There will come a time that burns like an all-consuming fire. Everyone who is arrogant, every person who lives upon the basis of contemptuous evil will be punishes with passioned blazes," says Almighty God, "Nothing will be spared of them. But to those who earnestly show me reverence, you fly like the eage; in your heart will shine the brightness of the sun. You will be healed by righteousness. Through holiness, you shall be elevated. It will be in your nature to frolick like a colt in the wilderness. You shall beat down Satan under your feet; wickedness will be trampled: evil shall be as dust under the soles of your feet on the day that I accomplish this.
"Remember that I am the one who instill moral order. Know that I bequeated to Moses moral law. Understand that the resurrection restores righteousness.
"As we speak, we are living in the days of Elijah. Soon the great and terrible and awe-worthy day will come. The Day of the Lord will soon come. Your hearts will be restored. The father will be united to his children; the children will meet again their father. To him I restore, I will not curse."
