Following is a conversation that I had with an individual that cold-called me via email. This is a technique that is widely used by hyperpreterists. However, I say “sort of” because this guy is out there on numerous issues that I wouldn’t want to appear to be saying that all hyperpreterists would agree with.

Dear Friend,
Here is a preterist book - which investigates the signs of the End of the Age, and how they were fulfilled in 70 A.D. Of particular interest are the events desctibed by both Josephus and Tacitus as happening just before the destruction of Jerusalem. These events seem to bear a relationship to the Passion of Christ. I hope you enjoy this book. If so, please pass it on to your brethren. There is no charge. I just hope that through sharing, more things will come to light.

At this point, I have no clue who this spammer is. He certainly isn’t my friend, which is pretty bad since anyone I have had one pleasant encounter with in the past is my friend. I am not publishing his email address out of a feeling of more consideration than he showed me by spamming me. My email is common knowledge. He sent this to several of my accounts, and I answered from whatever one my iPhone was defaulting to at the time of response.

Where does that leave modern day Christianity? I am not sure. Certainly, the implications and reverberations for Christendom are significant. All I know is that we are now living in a new age (Post Second Coming), and have been living in that age for 2000 years. The theologians must work out the ramifications.
