Has anybody read this? It's been sitting on my shelf and I am about to tackle it. Any thoughts?

I've got it on my to read pile. I've thumbed through it and it look interesting and thorough . . . and extensive . . . somewhat of a challenge I suppose.
I'll start it soon . . . maybe today. I usually read more than one book of a kind . . . 'cause . . . like reading Feyerbend and say, David Stove requires too much energy for me to keep at it all day like I used too. I'm getting old I guess.
I would be interesting to trade thoughts on this book:)
My one thought I guess . . . ha ha is that the author explicitly acknowledges that he is writing this book as a Historian and not as a theologian. Of course this will always make him open to attack for bias. I don't know anything about him so I can't say . . . although I think it is possible for one to be objective and put aside ones beliefs . . . I think.

I'll post some thoughts as I get into it.

Alright, I'm finally reading it, just finished chapter 1. I'd be glad to start discussing it, too. Where are you in the book?
