Zechariah, father of John the Baptist prophesied of his son. “And you, child, ‘will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, through the tender mercy of our God, when the day shall dawn upon us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.’” (Luke 1:76 - 1:79 RSV)
Even though you are not John the Baptist you are still in the position of fulfilling Zechariah's prophecy. Because the Light of Jesus has illuminated your life you can let that Light shine on the path of another simply by sharing with them the true spirit of Christmas.
The true spirit of Christmas is…
…One of hope where the Light of Christ illuminates the way of Peace on Earth and goodwill toward all.
…One of Jesus born as a baby growing in his citizenship in God’s Kingdom on Earth.
…Because God has been with you from infancy to where you are now the true spirit of Christmas can be found on pages of your life.
You are… … …Because Jesus is!
