I've been trying to shrink my "to read" stack(s). One book I recently grabbed off the stack is New Glory: Expanding America's Supremacy (https://smile.amazon.com/New-Glory-Expanding-Americas-Supremacy/dp/1595230114/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1497359625&sr=8-5&keywords=new+glory+america) by Ralph Peters. Publisher's Weekly wrote a rather scathing review of the tome, but the author may just possibly have even more disdain for the military-industrial complex than teh gerbil.

it's not him (in case that was a serious question)

I want the USA to have the strongest military in the world, such that nobody would think of casting a dirty look our way.
What I hate is the grifting that comes along with getting there and the nanny complex of getting involved in every single squabble that stone age tribes have over worthless desert.

Nuke New Zealand and all is forgiven.

It is so strange to get this kind of a question.
The one I get most often when I'm out in public is: "Mr. Clooney, may I please have an autograph?"

Can't be Meh Gerbil. Meh Gerbil's real name is "Maxine Waters"

Your views are so close to the author's that it's eerie.
