As a new sister in Christ, and one who has always stood for honesty, I must say that I’m curious to know what part integrity plays in the lives of Christians? I for one have “experienced” brethren that have been dishonest in their dealings with others, and have seemingly felt no remorse for those actions. I am greatly disheartened as a new Christian to see those that claim to stand for truth and righteousness, fall on their proverbial faces when faced with the ideal of integrity. Many times I could have stumbled because of situations like these. I thank God that I have learned some very valuable lessons early in my Christian walk, and that I came through these things, scarred, but faith intact. I believe the reason our Great God dislikes dishonesty so much, is because it truly hurts those who are involved and in the process, grieves Him as well. Falsehoods are unequivocally painful. At what point do we, as God’s children, decide to admit that we are indeed that sinner that Christ shed His precious blood for, and fall on our knees in sorrow and anguish for hurting not only our brethren but our God as well?
Romans 14:13: Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Romans 14:21: It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
May we all consider that the words we speak and the actions we take in life have consequences, and that we can indeed have a very powerful effect on the lives of others, all to His glory, or not. May we strive to be who God has made us in Christ. And may we live victoriously as we live the life of Christ in us!
For and By Him,
Linda
