Perissos Resources (http://www.perissosonline.org) along with Theologyweb.com are discussing co-hosting a large theology convention in Jacksonville, FL March 1-3, 2013. We want to center the event around 2 formally-formatted 3-hour debates on eschatology (end-time philosophy) and a benefit banquet with a well-known keynote speaker. We're also considering inviting several ministries to speak and raise awareness, hold book/media signings, and have several panel discussions. Some of you know we've done two small TWeb staff conventions in the past (2007, 2009), but we think it's time to do a much bigger event that will almost feel like TWeb, only in person.
Our primary objective is to bring glory to God and see His kingdom advance. To that end, we want minister to the public with these programs as well as financially benefit the two ministries that will dedicate the next year of their lives to bring this event to fruition. The first step in this process is to test the market. If we’re the only ones excited about such an event, then it wouldn’t make much sense to go forward. So, we’re praying for clear direction and we’re asking you to tell us what you think of this concept. Your input at this crucial phase of our planning can make all the difference in whether or not this exciting event becomes a reality.
Clearly, this is a large endeavor. It will require a budget, sponsors, and, most importantly, sufficient interest to justify putting such an event together. We think this could have great ministry value and community impact, but we'd like to know what you think! We’ve put together a brief survey you can complete that will help us measure interest. You can access it here (http://www.perissosonline.org/forms/conference-survey/) or from the Quick Links on our home page. We’re asking you to complete the survey (it'll take about 4 minutes) and then tell all your friends about it so they can come and chime in, too.
It is our sincere hope that we can draw about 500 people to this event and that process begins right here. If we don’t get 250 responses in the next 2 weeks, the project may never see the light of day. We’d be sad to see that happen, since we’re already talking to some of the names you’ll see on the survey and there is interest on their part to participate. Please, be as social as you can about this! Post the link on Facebook, talk about it with friends, send an email to your fellow theology buffs!
Thank you in advance and stay tuned for updates!

AHA! That's why you're back. :glare:
Seems interesting. Probably won't go myself - the expense of getting to America is prohibitive, especially if this is more a theology based event than a social one.
I can set this post as a front page article if you'd like?

Ask Dizzle, but I say, "Yes, please!"

There we go.
Are you going to be running a live stream like you did for the last TWebCon?

I'm thinking probably not for 2 reasons. First, there's no real way to control who signs in to something like that and we're asking people to pay a registration fee to attend. Second, recordings of the debates and keynote address will probably be packaged as a DVD and sold after the event.
This is a much bigger concept than our last 2 cons. I'm guessing some of our better-known guests wouldn't be keen on live streaming.

We might have some planned TWeb only type get togethers and perhaps we can stream them. I will keep that in minds for sure.

Yep, there will be at least a meet & greet and it makes sense to stream that if we can get the Audio/Visual stuff worked out. The way things are looking, though, I may have to add a day to the convention to fit in everything we're planning! TWebbers in attendance are gonna be so interested in the programming, they may not want to miss anything just to hang out together! More imporantly, we need to generate buzz for the survey or this thing could just never materialize. Please! Spread the word and fill out the survey yourselves today! It matters. A lot.

Quit being a weenie, Chris. Jacksonville has a whole ocean so we can't miss. Bring your helmet and we can live stream your baptism!

Piggy! I could totally get used the the phrase, "For JardinPrayer's sake!" I think we need to immortalize that! I can live without the pouty thing, though.
Thanks for those who are taking the survey. Tell others about it and encourage them to participate, please. Especially those of you who are active in debate threads. Definitely mention it over there.

Then we'll just have to get enough people to take the survey, won't we?

Honestly, considering the price tag his presence would probably command.. I have a feeling TWeb could go for someone more cost efficient.

Don't you worry about those things, Padawan. We're approaching corporate sponsors and I have a personal connection to him that may help. Several of our prospective speakers ask for "honorariums" to come. We can make it happen with enough interest. Generating buzz for the survey is too priority right now.
We've got 68 responses to the survey so far. We need more. Please post the link everywhere you discuss theology: your blogs, Facebook timelines, twitter...whatever you do. We need good survey results to make this real.

He specializes in Leviticus, not Numbers.I saw his Leviticus act - he stands a better chance doing Numbers. Juggling and eating apples while trying to quote the dietary laws... :eww:

Update: 77 survey responses. We need 250 positive responses by next Monday or the conference will likely not happen. Please renew your efforts to spread awareness about the survey. Counting on each one of you.

We should put a banner ad on the pages here at tweb (like the ads we have now) that links to the survey.
