Peace!

May He guide us all.

What is it you want to know about "them Muslims?"!!!!

I'm no authority, I know very little in fact, and I'm new to this site and to be honest, feeling rather overwhelmed by the wealth of knowledge here. Praise be to God that He has blessed so many with knowledge and with kindness. May He always make our hearts tolerant and merciful to one and other.

I'm willing to share what little I know and I hope to learn more from fellow Muslims, Jews, and Christians, and all believers, may God have mercy on us all and grant us the best of this world and the best of the next world.

We believe in one God, we believe in all the prophets; we believe in Jesus Christ [peace be upon him ] but we reject the belief that he is the begotten son of God as, in Islam, this corrupts the belief in one God and is considered blasphemy. We believe in the resurrection of Jesus and we await his promised return. We believe he will cleanse the world of evil and all false belief and that the believers will pray together after his return. Whatever differences we all have now will, God willing, be settled, when we all submit to the guidance of Jesus [Isa] peace be upon him. Mary , mother of Jesus, is the most honoured and most respected amongst all women in Islam and it is foretold in our books of hadith [sayings and practises of Muhammed, peace be upon him] that Mary [Miriam] will be the "leader" of the women in the Great Garden of paradise . We believe that the birth of the blessed Jesus, peace and blessings be upon him always, was a miracle of God [Glory be to Him the most High], and that the creation of the prophet Adam [peace be upon him] was an even greater miracle as Adam was created without a mother or a father. God the most high is able to do any miracle and He has blessed so many of his prohets, may He be pleased with them all, with the power of performing miracles, but we say the power comes from God alone and by virtue of his blessing alone, ie there is no power independent of God the most high.

We believe in the grace of God, that He is the most merciful and the most Beneficient, and our scripture says that Adam, may God be pleased with him, was forgiven what he did wrong and no sin befell mankind through Adam. We believe every child is born in a state of purity and in a state of submisison to God. Islam means peace through submission to the will of God and the will of God is that we worship Him through good manners , piety, and good works as ordained by Him. We believe mankind has only limited free will because it is a basic right and need of the soul of man that it be allowed to find peace in worship of God through prayer, deeds, and words, and in complete submission. All mankind naturally inclines to worship and "freedom of choice" is the choice to deny that and do only what we want, but that does not bring us true peace.

We believe in the angels, and the jinn [spirits]; angels are created from light, jinn from fire, and mankind from clay and dust. We believe in the good and evil created by God; even evil exists only by the leave of God and has no power in itself which is independent of God.

We accept Mohammed, peace be upon him, as the last prophet of God; and the hadith mention that there were 125,000 prophets through the ages and that Muhammed was the last brick in the house of prophethood.

That's a very basic introduction to what we believe, and you may know all this already, so please forgive me if I am telling you what you already know, but it may serve to inform others who do not know.

If you have any specific questions I should be pleased to try and answer, but I repeat that I know little and I trust others will help to answer!

With very kind regards.

Dear Almost: Thank you for the informative information on the Muslim religion. Do you believe what you wrote is true? If yes, why do you believe it is true? Have you read the New Testament of the Christian faith? Peace to you.

Hi Almost! I'm sorry if the tone of that first post was at all disrespectful- I meant nothing by it. My post was just the first in the new forum, and I was just attempting a joke.

Thanks a lot for the valuable information! One question I've always been curious about- why the habit of saying "peace be upon him" after the names of the prophets?

With very kind regards. There is of course much more to this than he describes.

There is little tolereance of other religions in parts of the world controlled by Islam. This intolerence is dictated by the Qua'ran.

They believe in Christ, but deny his devinity. Instead, he is a prophet, inferrior to Mohammed, who will return in the end times when Christians and Jews are all killed.

There is a midievil concept of the Christian concept of God, that is seemingly unable to comprehend the Trinity. God as Father, God [same dude] who moves people spiritually[ Holy Spirit], and God who decided he would atone for the sin of Adam by incarnating himself [uh, same God] in human form as Jesus. The fact that this is the SAME SINGLE ENTITY is lost on Islam. Like, you couldn't be someone's father, someone's brother, and someone's uncle, all at the same time. Very simplistic. Yet, it is the fundamental reason they DIS Chirsitians. They don't get the Trinity. They think it is some kind of multiple god worship. Chimptastic.

All his yap about Mary, who was just a woman, is designed to convince Catholics that they are respected by Islam. That is not the fact.

In Islam, Christians and Jews are considered to be polytheists, who are granted a short term visa by Mohammed. Once that short term visa is up, Jesus will return and lead an army that kills all Christians and Jews, and then judgement day starts.
