In this thread I would like to post some commentary reccomendations and open up hte floor to anyone else's reccomendations as well.

I will Start with a few that I like all of which need to be read critically as they all have their problems but I have found them useful:

this is the only volume in the series written by an Evangelical
Matthew
France Matthew (Conservative)
(This is nice as it argues for Matthean Primacy which is rare in modern scholarship so the introduction is worth the price of admittance.)

John
Schnackenburg, Rudolf: (Moderate) The best commentary on John ever written.
Carson, DA: (Pillar) PNTC (Conservative) deals with a lot of the OT background and difficult passages.
I'll be back to this thread later. This is just off the top of my head.

Matthew
France, Matthew (Conservative)
'Glad to see that one listed.
France is not only conservative but also preterist.
His Matthew tops my list of great commentaries.
His doctoral thesis, Jesus and the Old Testament is a superb explication of the preterist perspective in New Testament interpretation.
