Even while complaining about how expensive they are, I buy a lot of buttons. I have a bag o buttons in my sewing box that I just buy. Now of course I never use any of them in a new project, but go and buy some more, but some day.......

I totally understand. I have the same problem, only with fabric. I have a huge stash of little bits of fabric that I love that I know I will use some day. And I have to buy some more once in a while.....they bring out new stuff all the time!!

I bought some more buttons today. I really thought I was going to use them with the fabric I bought, but changed my mind and added them to the big baggie of buttons I have.

I have a can of buttons I have been collecting since high school. It's full of vintage buttons I have collected off of really old clothes (when I was younger I was into vintage everything- still am, just not as hardcore about it). I don't really collect them anymore... but I still have that canfull for memories. There are some really cool unique ones in there..... I used to save them and when I got a boring shirt (like as a gift), I would just switch the buttons and make it really cool.
