I am posting this here for the sole purpose of exhorting Christ following believers..and at the same time exemplifying the utter disparity between those who believe and those who don't believe; when it concerns discerning the will and Word of God
here we go:
2Ti 3:16 - All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
and then:
2 Peter 1:19-21
19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
now if no particular interpretation by a person is valid then what hope do we have...cause we all have interpretations...
this is almost reiterative:
Ro 8:14 - Show Context
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
understand now this is absolute doctrine...if you don't have the Holy Spirit then you can not know God nor His Word...that is Jesus and the (word of the Word) Bible
this said while (withstanding&/understanding) the power of the gospel (the life and professions of Jesus):
Mr 1:15 -
and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
and:
Lu 4:18 - "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
also:
Ac 15:7 -And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: "Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.
and foremost:
Ro 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
but without the motion of the Holy Spirit none of this is possible in any sense...that is to say that without some movement of the Spirit of God, none will be able to understand God...
Sadly enough in the midst of this the following will hold true:
2 Timothy 3:1-7 1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
furthermore:
Lu 6:39 -
And He spoke a parable to them: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into the ditch?
Joh 8:19 -
Then they said to Him, "Where is Your Father?" Jesus answered, "You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also."
now let me get to the cool part of this teaching...personal testimony bolstering the effectivity of this knowledge...
I know and am convinced of what the following portrayal exhibits... I am a Spirit filled believer of God, to no glory of my own self, but to the glorification of God who loves me...
about a week ago i was looking at my new map book composed of maps of biblical paces...its pretty neat but i ran into a problem in it. The editors of the book contended that there exist errors in the Bible and they offered the following example as a discrepancy between census results showing the falsity of the Bible:
1 Chronicles 21:1-6
1 Now Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel. 2 So David said to Joab and to the leaders of the people, "Go, number Israel from Beersheba to Dan, and bring the number of them to me that I may know it." 3 And Joab answered, "May the Lord make His people a hundred times more than they are. But, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? Why then does my lord require this thing? Why should he be a cause of guilt in Israel?" 4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Therefore Joab departed and went throughout all Israel and came to Jerusalem. 5 Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to David. All Israel had one million one hundred thousand men who drew the sword, and Judah had four hundred and seventy thousand men who drew the sword.
versus:
2 Samuel 24
1 Again the anger of the Lord was aroused against Israel, and He moved David against them to say, "Go, number Israel and Judah." 2 So the king said to Joab the commander of the army who was with him, "Now go throughout all the tribes of Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, and count the people, that I may know the number of the people." 3 And Joab said to the king, "Now may the Lord your God add to the people a hundred times more than there are, and may the eyes of my lord the king see it. But why does my lord the king desire this thing?" 4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab and against the captains of the army. Therefore Joab and the captains of the army went out from the presence of the king to count the people of Israel. 5 And they crossed over the Jordan and camped in Aroer, on the right side of the town which is in the midst of the ravine of Gad, and toward Jazer. 6 Then they came to Gilead and to the land of Tahtim Hodshi; they came to Dan Jaan and around to Sidon; 7 and they came to the stronghold of Tyre and to all the cities of the Hivites and the Canaanites. Then they went out to South Judah as far as Beersheba. 8 So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. 9 Then Joab gave the sum of the number of the people to the king. And there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men who drew the sword, and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men.
now if you look at the contexts you will realize they are the same.....
now the meat of my sermon is this; what really vexed me is the beginning of both passages when compared....is the anger of God the same as Satan...implications implications....
so i showed a couple of my elders....who had no explanation for me save to say that they believe the Bible is inerrant and divinely inspired....i do believe that and so i listened to my mom-in-law's advice and asked God what this meant...i was distraught and sort of confused but i prayed anyway and told God that i still believe in Him but im just not understanding this....
a couple of days later this is exactly what happened...this totally revitalised me and brought to me a new understanding of scripture (that it can only be referenced effectively by God...which is to say it is divinely inspired and can only be divinely interpreted...although not necessarily in the same manner every time,ie.
Heb 4:12 - For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.)
i open my Bible at random as i do quite often in the morning (that's not the only way a limitless God works) and i got this right before my eyes(Read Deuteronomy 28 to get the whole picture):
20 "The Lord will send on you cursing, CONFUSION, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.
God loves those who will become foolish for His sake. May God bless us all; that includes you. In closing i would like to add a little tittle:
Mt 5:18 - For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
