One day a man set out to build a house for himself painstakingly he selected the best building site. Next he hired the best architect he could find to design him the best house ever build. As the man looked at the blueprints he said, “My house must be perfect in every detail so I will use your plans yet I will be my own contractor.”
“Please sir,” the Architect said, “Do not let the construction of your house be left to your own judgment! If you will let me I will be your Contractor and my charges are so little.”
But the man did not take the advice of the Architect, “I do not trust the construction of my perfect house to anyone other than myself,” the man replied.
“As you wish,” came the reply.
3 months later the man was standing in front of the best house ever constructed. It was perfect in every detail. No where on earth could such a home be found. “If there are houses in heaven,” someone commented, “This is what they will look like!” Eagerly the man purchased all the best furnishings money could buy and moved in.
One night on the other side of the mountains the man heard a storm brewing but it didn’t worry him after all his new home was constructed of the finest material money could buy. “Your home will last hundreds of years,” he was told. Hours later the man stood outside a huge pill of rubble which was the remains of his beautiful house. Later it was determined that the sub-contractors the man hired had scrimped on the nails and screws used to hold the lumber together.
Your life is like the house in this story the Master Architect has designed it perfectly and has given you all the best construction materials available and says, “Let me build your house.” Do not be like the man in the story let Jesus be not only Architect but the General Contractor of your life as well!
Peace be unto you!
