Assuming the common ancestry theory is true, when Adam named the animals in Genesis 2:19, did God have to wait around for all the animals (and Adam) to evolve into their respective species before they could get their names?

I think you're in the wrong forum mate- this is an atheist-only forum.

Try asking the same question in apologetics, as I don't believe you'll be able to carry it on in here.

I would say that it would not be necessary. Adam could name all species present, even if some were to diverge into seperate species later, without any strong problems.

It is not a problem for someone today to name a species that may evolve into other species in the future.

You are correct. I will ask the moderators to move it to the appropriate forum.

I asked the moderators to move this thread, but I don't know what happened. I'll try re-posting in the apologetics forum.
