Pearl Hoarder?

A'ight! A'ight! A'ight! Check it......SOME folks are going broke giving away all the pearls they have. Others are sitting on them like they will be a much needed commodity during the Tribulation (:wink:).

I have to give r00bz props for her experiment.....dang she went from boocoo pearls to 29 by the sheer generosity of her heart. (r00bz if I had any left to give, you'd get some for your huge heart) :thumb: :thumb:

For those of you who give on a regular basis...tell some of the reasons you give.

For those of you who don't give, why not?

I'd love to hear the funniest reason you've given or recieved pearls.

I like giving them away because I know how cool it is to receive them, especially when it is either 1) total random, just a person letting you know they care or 2) because you actually had a good enough post that they would go out of their way to reward you.

Well I give my pearls for various reasons when someone posts something that moves me, To friends like Xmansmommy who keep giving there's away. to congratulate people for accomplishments etc...

With one exception, I only give pearls to posts that handle their subject matter particularly well (imo).

I gave Mononke pearls as part of an experiment to see if I could get her to give them back.

If anybody else has received pearls from me (I've sent between 20 and 40), then you've earned them, so far as I'm concerned.

If I want somebody to know that I care, I send a PM.

I don't give them as much as I probably should but I don't want them to become something cheap I give them for amany reasons :teeth:

funniest pearls I recieved was from.. umm patroclus( I get Jaltus and pat mixed up for some unknown reason but I am pretty sure it was pat :smile:) I think :huh:

Great thoughts guys. I love to give pearls! Perhaps because I know how good it feels to get a little recognition for whatever reason. I have given them for various reasons....a great and insightful theological post. A funny post that really had me :lol:. Of course the good old birthday pearls...sorry Robyn you would get some if I really knew your birthday :wink:. Sometimes I give newcomers pearls just because. I always give 5 unless I don't have that many to give. 5's a good number. :joy:

Some of the funniest/best reasons I've been given pearls...

I give 'em away for various reasons. As birthday gifts, for good posts of course, for making an excellent point that I hadn't considered before, and to newbies with good opening posts to encourage them to keep posting. I've given 'em mostly for people who I agree with, but have given a few to those who don't as well. I haven't given many recently as I'm down to only 1, and it appears TWeb doesn't allow one to go to 0 pearls.

I was over 600 pearls because someone exploited a bug in the pearl system and I had been slowly getting back down. Then I disappeared from TWeb for about a month (studying for my comprehensive exams) and ended up with another 100 pearls to get rid of. I am trying to get back down from being over 450 about a month ago, but I have not been on much.

At the time when I posted in this thread, however, I was down to about 150 or so.
