Reds, whites and blacks should NOT be in the same load - unless you just like all your laundry coming out a icky shade of brown. Like colors together - especially reds which just seem to like shedding dye - and whites get the chlorine bleach.

Happiness is well sorted laundry!

Yes, the wash cloth shouldn't be that scratchy. But what if the clothes are nicely worn out? Then they won't bleed dye.

My cousin offered to babysit my daughter for a weekend.

This is my 24yo (I think) male cousin who at 17 was forced into the military by his parents (with good reason). The same one who was often in trouble while enlisted for smoking/drinking on base and spent more than one night under suicide watch. The same one who was later discharged (other than honorably afaik) from the Army. The same one who after discharge spent some unspecified amount of time at a mental hospital. The same one who then got his GI Bill funding, used it at a community college and flunked out. The same one who, just moments before offering, spilled his soda on himself because he apparently can't talk on the phone and handle coke bottles at the same time.

I very politely declined.
