Look at all the pretty colors. :teeth:
Welcome to TheologyWeb.com... theology discussion ReVaMpEd!
As you may have noticed things are a just ever so slightly different. We rearranged slightly and I know what you're thinking... "AJ, I'm going to stub my toe! I always do when you rearrange!" ...but this is well worth it :teeth:
First off is the obvious facelift... major kudos to yxboom for doing such an awesome job! If you want something simpler, be sure to check out TheologyWeb Lite (http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/index.php?styleid=1). For the ladies, we have a very beautiful skin by JardinPrayer... check it out the TheologyWeb Garden (http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/index.php?styleid=6). Now, for you crybabies out there... you can hang out in Tweb's own nursery with the TheologyWeb Bratz (http://www.theologyweb.com/forum/index.php?styleid=7). There's something for everyone :teeth:
Now, these changes aren't merely skin deep... the entire forum software, vBulletin, was completely rewritten from the ground up to provide better security, more features, and an awesome speed increase that will definately help our server. Because of this massive change in the backend of our software, we had to completely rewrite all our well known modifications. I've been working on it since early October. This, too, was written from the ground up. I've added a few features here and there, standardized the look with the rest of the site, and majorly improved memory and processor utilization.
But that's all geeky and boring so let's get to the good stuff. I went wild with the bbcode... I just couldn't stop messing with it. We have a ton of great new bbcodes... starting with an insanely improved column tag.
It now supports a title:
Except for the title[break]this is exactly like the old column tag.
Except for the title[break]this is exactly like the old column tag.
And rows:
Row 1, Col 1[break]Row 1, Col 2[break]Row 1, Col 3
Row 2, Col 1[break]Row 2, Col 2
this is my favorite tag and it took forever to write!
Row 1, Col 1[break]Row 1, Col 2[break]Row 1, Col 3
Row 2, Col 1[break]Row 2, Col 2
this is my favorite tag and it took forever to write!
Of course, you can use the title and row tags as much as or as little as you please.
The disable tag now also disables custom and standard smilies.
The Greek tag has been improved and made more platform independent. We also now have Hebrew tags!
The spoiler tag now accepts smilies in the button (ie: Hello There!) and it won't freak out if you use apostrophes.
Some other enhancements is the new glossary. When you see a word that is defined in the glossary, such as thread, it will be underlined with a dotted line. Clicking on the word will display a definition. Give it a shot! If you'd rather not have this, open up your User Control Panel->Edit Options-> and under "Thread Display Options" set this to something appropriate.
Also, the shoutbox is now displayed on every page! To open it, simply click the Shoutbox link at the top of the screen. You can also display it as a collapsible box, simply goto edit options and it's under Misc. Options. You can also disable it from appearing, but you don't want to do that :bawl:
That's just a short summary of all the cool new things the rEvAmPeD TWeb has to offer. Enjoy!
There's still lots of work left to get TheologyWeb up and running on the new software, so please bear with us and report problems to the Front Desk.

PS: Happy 1st Year Birthday, TheologyWeb!
