C.R. Stam, who faithfully pioneered Paul's gospel throughout most of this century has died at 94. Following is the notice from the Berean Bible Society. He will be sorely missed.

Pastor C.R. Stam's Homegoing

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His
saints." On Sunday, March 9, 2003 Pastor Stam was promoted
to glory at the age of 94. He is now with our Savior, whom
he loved and faithfully served for more than seventy years.
Surely a great recompense of reward awaits him at that day
for his unwavering stand for Paul's apostleship and message.

In cooperation with Pastor Stam's family, the Berean Bible
Society will be holding a special Memorial Service on
Saturday, March 15, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. The service will be
held at:

Grace Gospel Center
4 North 220 Route 83
Bensenville, Illinois

The Grace Gospel Center is located one mile north of I-290
on Route 83 (use the frontage road). For additional
information, you can contact the Berean Bible Society at
(262) 255-4750 or the church at (630) 834-0550.

For a map to the Grace Gospel Center, see
http://gracebeliever.com/about/map1.htm

In lieu of flowers, Pastor Stam requested Memorial Gifts be
sent to the Berean Bible Society, or Berean Literature
Foundation (preservation of Pastor Stam's writings), or
Berean Bible Institute at P.O. Box 756, Germantown,
Wisconsin 53022.

May the Lord use this time of remembrance to the praise of
His glory in Christ Jesus.

Paul M. Sadler
President
Berean Bible Society

Thank you truthman. I have one of his books "Things that Differ" which I have not finished reading yet. But I do know that he has had a very great and powerful impact in the lives of many. While I know he will be sorely missed, we all know he certainly is much happier now. I thank God for him and many others like him, who have stood up for the truth, for the gospel of the grace of God, and who have made it their life goal to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery! Hats off to our dear brother Stam!

God Bless,
Linda

I don't know who that guy is, but his website is full of garbage.

Consider this:

Q. If a believer stopped believing in Christ wouldn't he lose his salvation?

A: Nothing can undo our salvation, including our ceasing to believe (assuming that this is even possible), because it is a finished work of God. "Wherefore He is able to save them to the uttermost (completely and eternally) that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever lives to make intercession for them" (Hebrews 7: 25), The complete and eternal nature of our salvation is here, as elsewhere, seen to depend on His intercession and not on our faithfulness. God only saves completely. One who has been saved "completely" can never again be lost!

This is a receipe for antinomianism.

If you look into the bible, you will find that salvation is only completed when Christ comes again and the dead are raised. The word "saved" is used of those who have the hope of future salvation, but to pretend that salvation is completed on this earth, epecially in the middle of a believer's life, is ludicrous. He has misunderstood Hebrews 7: 25, which is talking about the ability of God to perfect salvation by perseverance. This does not mean that a new believer's salvation is "can never again be lost!", because as Paul says:

Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, [take heed] lest he also spare not thee.

Rom 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in [his] goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

The occasion of his death is no occasion to attack him or his teachings. Go somewhere else.

undead,

You rightly identify that circumcision believers can lost their salvation. However, Pastor Stam rightly divides the Word of Truth and recognizes that the body of Christ is secure and cannot lose their salvation...2 Timothy 2: 10 - 13

10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him.
12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.Check it out for yourself. The original text shows the negative of "believe" pisteuo. Verse 13 literally says, "If we do not believe He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself." Christ cannot deny His own body.

Praise God for C.R. Stam's ministry, and praise God that we will be united together with our Lord and Pastor Stam at the rapture of the body of Christ!
