Hehehe
Anybody remember "Hee Haw"?
My grandparents are from the south, and they used to watch that show every weekend. I think my parents did, too, but I can't remember that part very well. What was your favorite part of the show?

That brings up some great memories. My relatives down in Florida used to have a little Branson, MO type show called "The Ocean Opry." It was a total rip-off of the Grand Ol' Opry but it was pretty popular with the old folks and tourists. I think at one point they had their own local tv show once a week that had highlights from the show during the week.

I didn't vote because this option was not available:
I loved it as a kid, but wouldn't be caught dead watching it now.
That would get my vote.
(However as a musician I have a tremendous amount of respect for Roy Clark.)

I'm just the opposite.
For some reason I've learned to appreciate "cornpone" humor.

You can catch a lot of old shows archived on the internet. I used to have a link that you paid like $5 and you got a month access to watch all kinds of old shows like Laverne and Shirley, and uh that is about the only old show I know :hrm:

I may listen to alternating cycles of blues-rock and heavy metal... but I was raised on Hee-Haw, and I loved it! :yipee:
In fact, my family also sometimes watched this old, B&W predecessor of Hee-Haw... I don't even remember the name, but it took place in what looked like a real barn, and had Minnie Pearl and Grampa Jones back when they were young. (His mustache was even bigger back then, and yes, she had that price tag hanging off her hat way back then.) They had guests like Jim Reeves and I can't even remember who else.
It's terrible the direction most "country" music has taken these days. 90% of what's on the country charts today... if you played it on the radio 20 years ago, it would have been on the rock or pop charts. It sure as heck ain't country. Especially that Shania Twain style of junk. :eww:

I also remember Shana-na. My friends parents used to watch it all the time. I was the unfortunate child that got stuck watching Lawrence Welk.

Does anyone else remember that old show called Mutual Of Omaha's wild life. Every week my Dad would watch it. It was actually very good. It was all about wild animals, like a documentary. Then this really old guy would narrate it.

Oh, you poor thing!! Didn't that come on right before the muppet show? Then it was the dukes of Hazard, the hulk, the Dallas, I think. *sigh* those were the days.

Yesterday, the Sci-Fi channel had a Buck Rogers marathon for most of the day. LOL
Here's some trivia:
Who can tell me what Olympic athlete had a role on one episode of Buck Rogers as a 25th century athlete?
And who remembers the show Gil Gerard did AFTER Buck Rogers???

I loved the wildlife program!!!!
Sorry- I am behind you guys- my comp. is old and I have a 56k connection. You all are moving too fast for me. I'll get to Buck Rogers in like a half an hour, and you'll be talking about something else by then.
