Here is a dumping ground for your favorite END TIME blunders.
, “Armageddon Looms,”
The Evangel* remarked,
“HOW near must we be
to the last great battle, we wonder, as we read in Time about
reports of joint action in the Near East being contemplated by
Russia and Turkey to overwhelm Syria, Palestine, and Iran.”31
And again advice was given for the proper response of the pre
millenarian mind: “With the nations rushing on so swiftly to
Armageddon the appearance of the Lord should be our constant
expectation, for surely His coming draweth nigh.”
Amegeddon Now , D Wilson 1991,p 118
Evengel 11/11/39.* Later to be renamed The Pentecostal Evangel published by the AOG
Take care

"Israel could have accepted (Jesus) as Messiah and He would have ushered in the millennial Kingdom. Somehow, Jesus would have been crucified at some later point
to fulfill the prophecy and provide salvation of all those who repent of their sins." -
Apocalypse, p. 33,34.

Here’s one I wish could be followed through with –
"If Dispensationalism has the answers, then it is the most helpful tool in Biblical interpretation. If not, it ought to be discarded as worthless."
Charles Ryrie (Disp'ism Today,'65,21)

Charles Ryrie (Disp'ism Today,'65,21) Obviously a rebound from one of his more imaginative Apocalyptic interpretations.

here's one that I just had to post:
Hal Lindsey
"The decade of the 1980’s could very well be the last decade of history as we know it." (The 1980’s: Countdown to Armageddon, p. 8)

We are already living in the
AGE OF ANTICHRIST!
The world is on the threshold of catastrophe. Scientific advances
are really scientific tragedies that will spell chaos, confusion and
terror.
Within the next 5 years. . .
DESIGN YOUR OWN CHILD
by going to the “genetic supermarket.”
YOUR MIND WILL BE PROGRAMMED
without your knowing it!
Within the next 10 years. .
.
YOUR BRAIN WILL BE CONTROLLED
by outside sources!
YOUR MEMORY WILL BE TRANSFERRED
into a live embryo.
And so on. None of this has happened, of course. My favorite
is this one: “HEAD TRANSPLANTS will become a reality.” I
wonder who will be the first two volunteers? Who will get what?
Kirban’s book is to Bible exposition what the National Enquirer
is to journalism. The trouble is, the National Enquirer sells 7
million copies each week; it is by far America’s largest-circulation
newspaper Sensationalism sells!
Salem Kirban's The Rise of Antichrist 1978 as quoted in Rapture Fever G North, 1993 p 55

I was in my local Christian bookstore the other day visiting a friend who works there, and I was looking on the discounted books rack and I couldn't stop laughing: there had to be 20 DIFFERENT books that had titles along the lines of - "Christ's Y2K return" and "Will the world see 2001?" There is no end to the naivety (Sp?) of these people who keep on believing this stuff without seeing that they are being misinformed at every turn. Like the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." I guess the shame is on the futurist dispies then, huh?
