I have always wondered after reading N.T. Wrights book Jesus and the Victory of God where he mentions that Jesus was an Itinerate teacher and would have repeated himself a lot during his minsitry of three years. If this is true then Jesus would have preached the same message that of Salvation over and over through every town he went through. With the lack of hard evidence for "Q" and the other hypotheical documents which I believe could possibly be the Apostles "notes", is it valid to say that most of the teachings of Jesus in the Synoptics repeat each otehr is because the Disciples would have memorized teh most important teachings? Just a thought!

Blake,
Are there particular passages in the synoptics that you see as encapsualting the message of salvation? Are you an advocate of N T Wright's approach to salvation and righteousness? I thought his take on righteousness as expressed in What St Paul Really Said pretty interesting, though I disagreed with him as to his opinions on imputation...
