It's called "previewing." The stuff I like, I buy. I can see why record companies like to call this "stealing" because honestly there's been dozens of CDs I chose not to buy because I listened to them and was horribly disappointed.

Keeping the stuff you don't buy is stealing.

To use EFNet you have to have an IRC client. You can get one at www.mirc.com

Once you download it, from the list of servers to connect to select one that has EFNet in the name.

To join the mro channel, connect to the server and then in the typing line type "/join #mroxdcc"

They will have instructions there on how to download from the bots.

Or you can just ask here, I'm sure lots of people have used it before.

What's Ogg Vorbis?

Em7add11
March 14th 2003, 02:55 AM
It's an open source compression format. It supposedly offers better compression and higher sound quality than MPEG-1 Layer 3 compression.

Is it still around? Someone was telling me that it was still around, but you have to pay for it now, like Napster.

Don't you have to have RealPlayer to play ogg vorbis files? Or will they play in winamp? I really can't stand RealPlayer!

RealPlayer is a tool of satan. There are programs designed to play .ogg files, don't worry. :teeth:

You are correct. I'm not sure what the selection is like now though. Before, I could find anything on it. I found 7 copies of my band's demo even.

The Sonique player will run Ogg files, and its free (no shareware, crippleware) Look in the plugins section after you get the main player...if you want it of course. It's super stable and doesn't burn up resources.
